How a Three-Month Relief Drive Reached 400+ People
Through the COVID-19 lockdowns, a continuous three-month campaign delivered daily rations and fresh food to approximately 400–500 individuals.
When the COVID-19 lockdowns began, thousands in our area lost their daily income overnight. Ration shops ran short. The most vulnerable — daily-wage earners, the elderly, single-income families — had nowhere to turn.
We launched a food relief campaign that ran continuously for three months. Every day, essential rations and fresh food were prepared and distributed to approximately 400–500 individuals.
It was exhausting, but it was also the clearest example of what community means. Volunteers cooked, packed, and delivered. Local donors contributed. Neighbours looked after neighbours.
That experience stays with me. Service is not a slogan — it is showing up every day, especially on the days when it is hardest. We did, and I am proud of every person who stood with us.
